    白色至微黃色結晶，呈櫻桃和香酯似香{氣。熔點34℃。沸點260℃，折射率(nD20)1.5670。相對密度(d435)1.0700。溶于乙醇、乙醚、甘油、丙二醇、大多數(shù)非揮發(fā)性油和礦物油，不溶于水。天然品含于羅勒油(可達52%)、高良姜油及桂葉油等中。
    用途
    1.GB27Chemicalbook60—1996規(guī)定為暫時允許使用的食用香料。有良好定香作用。主要用于配制櫻桃、草莓和葡萄等型香精。
    2.用于香料工業(yè)作定香劑，常用于調配康乃馨、東方型花香香精，用于肥皂、洗滌劑，也用于風味劑和糕點。作為有機合成中間體，主要用于醫(yī)藥工業(yè)。
